The President of Egypt condemned the Bombing of a Hospital in Gaza, Claiming that it was carried out on Purpose

The President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, referred to the explosions and destruction of the hospital in the Gaza Strip and strongly condemned the rocket attacks on such facilities.

“I followed with deep sorrow the Israeli bombing of Al-Ahli Baptist in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the death and injuries of hundreds of innocent Palestinian citizens in Gaza. I condemn in the strongest terms this deliberate bombing, which is considered a flagrant violation of international law and the provisions of international legitimacy and humanity,” al-Sisi said.

He highlighted that he reiterates the position of Egypt, both the state and people that rejects the continuation of these practices.

More than 500 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza’s El Ahli Baptist Hospital on Tuesday, Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra told Anadolu Agency.

A video from the scene shows corpses in the hospital grounds.

The airstrike came 11 days after the start of Israel’s conflict with the Hamas group, while a growing number of international NGOs and world leaders say Israel’s campaign of bombing the besieged Gaza Strip, including health facilities, homes and places of worship, violates international law and may constitute a war crime.

Hamas announced that Israel’s targeting of the hospital was “genocide”.

Gaza is experiencing a humanitarian crisis without electricity, while running out of water, food, fuel, and medical supplies. Civilians flee south after Israeli warning to evacuate northern areas.

The fighting began when Hamas launched multiple surprise attacks on October 7 that included numerous rocket attacks and incursions into Israel by land, sea and air. Hamas said the raid was in retaliation for earlier raids on the Al-Aqsa mosque and an increase in violence by Israeli settlers.

In response, the Israeli military launched an operation against Hamas targets inside the Gaza Strip.

“At least 3,061 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip,” the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced earlier today.

“Approximately 13,750 people were injured in the Israeli bombardment,” according to a statement from the Ministry.

More than 1,400 Israelis, including 299 soldiers, were killed in the clashes.
