The President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), Bakir Izetbegović, met today with the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Christian Schmidt.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and a number of important current topics.

Izetbegović placed particular emphasis on the situation in the RS entity and the systemic discrimination to which Bosniaks and Croats are exposed, starting from the right to use their native language, to the inability to exercise the constitutional right to proportional representation in the entity and public institutions of RS.

He also emphasized the need for Srebrenica, as the place where genocide against Bosniaks was committed, to receive special treatment in the Election Law of BiH.

A significant part of the conversation focused on finding ways to remove obstacles in order to accelerate investment and construction of projects of public interest, such as Corridor 5C or energy infrastructure and development projects in municipalities.

The High Representative briefed Izetbegović on preparations and expectations for the upcoming UN Security Council session dedicated to the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
