Railway traffic on the section Sarajevo – Mostar has been completely suspended, announced the Railways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Dramatic scenes come from the part of the railway line near Jablanica, where part of the railway line was literally in the air, separated from the ground due to landslides and floods caused by heavy rainfall.

A little earlier, the Mountain Rescue Service (GSS) of Jablanica called on the residents to contact the GSS and the firemen for help, in order to jointly try to save those threatened by the floods. During the night, heavy rains caused the water level to rise, which resulted in numerous landslides and floods, blocking Jablanica completely.

On the main road Konjic-Jablanica-Mostar, as well as on the road Jablanica-Prozor and Jablanica-Blidinje, there were numerous landslides or rocks on the roadway, landslides and flash floods, which caused the traffic to stop. Alternative directions (Sarajevo-Mostar) at the time of this suspension are: Sarajevo-Novi Travnik-Rostovo-Bugojno-Kupres-Tomislavgrad-Posušje-Mostar or Sarajevo-Foča-Tjentište-Gacko-Mostar.

Traffic was also suspended on the roads: Busovača-Kiseljak, Kiseljak-Kreševo and at the entrance to Kiseljak (from the direction of Sarajevo), where traffic was suspended due to water spilling onto the roadway, flash floods and landslides.

In areas where it is raining, drivers are urged to drive with maximum caution and to adapt their driving to the current road conditions.

Due to the work on the replacement of crossing devices on the Reljevo viaduct, on the section of the Sarajevo North-Butila highway, vehicles are traveling in one traffic lane in the direction of travel. On the section Podlugovi-Visoko, due to the works on the installation of the fenders at the site of the works, the overtaking lane is in operation, and the speed is limited to 60 km/h.

On the main roads Matuzići-Doboj and Vitez-Kaonik, due to current works, traffic is slow, with alternating passing of vehicles. Given that these are extremely frequent sections, longer lines of vehicles form in both directions at the work sites during the day.

Rehabilitation works are also current on the main roads: Livno-Kamensko (Podgradina), Doboj-Gračanica (Brijesnica Velika), Kladanj-Živinice, Prozor/Rama-Jablanica, Foča-Ustikolina, Tarčin-Konjic and Međeđa-Višegrad.

On the main road Rogatica-Ustiprača, due to damage to the bridge, vehicles up to 30 tons are traveling in one lane, while traffic is suspended for vehicles over 30 tons.

There are no longer detentions for passenger vehicles at the border crossings, BIHAMK announced.
