The president of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), Miloš Vučević, said that the list of Aleksandar Vučić-Srbija Sutra, except in Bačka Topola, Senta, Kaniža and Tutin, won in all other cities and municipalities of Serbia in today’s local elections in Serbia.

He said that the average turnout was between 43 and 44 percent in the largest number of municipalities and cities where the elections were held.

When it comes to the capital of Serbia, according to IPSOS-CESID’s estimate based on 51.1 percent of the processed sample, the newspaper “Aleksandar Vučić – Beograd Sutra” won 53 percent of the votes.

In second place is the list “Dr. Savo Manojlović – I am Belgrade – Go-Change” with 17, and in third place is “Biramo Beograd – Dobrica Veselinović – Miloš Pavlović” with 12.6 percent.

In fourth place is the list “We are the strength of the people, prof. Dr. Branimir Nestorović” with 8.2 percent of the votes won.

With the closing of the polls at 8:00 p.m., the local elections in Serbia ended, during which citizens elected councilors of the Belgrade City Assembly and local authorities in another 14 cities, 51 municipalities and 23 urban municipalities.

14 lists participated in the elections for the Assembly of the City of Belgrade, as many as for the Assembly of Novi Sad, and in Niš there were 11 lists.

Elections were held in another 12 cities: Subotica, Zrenjanin, Kikinda, Vršac, Pančevo, Sombor, Sremska Mitrovica, Valjevo, Požarevac, Jagodina, Užice and Čačak.

Election day was marked by numerous opposition claims that the process took place in the shadow of election manipulations.

The opposition reported the most accusations of election irregularities in Belgrade and Novi Sad. The accusations related to keeping parallel voter lists, organizing “call centers” in public institutions and buying votes.

The CRTA observation mission stated that the organization filed eight criminal charges with the police for electoral corruption, and that was due to suspicion of buying votes in New Belgrade, Zvezdara, Palilula, Rakovica and Obrenovac.

The President of the City Election Commission of Belgrade, Zoran Lukić, said tonight that there were no problems, conflicts or turbulence during the voting.

Milovan Šijakov, the deputy president of the City Election Commission in Novi Sad, said that there were no major irregularities that affected the course of the election.

The election commission should publish the overall report on the election results within 96 hours from the closing of the polling stations.

Elections were not organized in 64 cities and municipalities where they were held in December last year, BHRT writes.
