The Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska Radovan Višković said that a plant for converting natural gas into liquid gas should be built in the area of Zvornik and that a Russian investor is interested in this project.
”Gas is transported in liquid form to the consumer’s location. The conversion of natural gas into liquid is done for those consumers to whom it is impossible or unprofitable to build gas infrastructure,” said Višković to RTRS in Moscow, where he spoke with representatives of several companies in connection with the RS gasification project.
The Prime Minister stated that the Gacko Power Plant could use liquefied gas instead of fuel oil, adding that there are other potential users.
“We agreed to create a project assignment and look at which other consumers, apart from the Gacko Thermal Power Plant, would be users. We will survey all potential users and deliver the parameters to the future investor, after which the amount of the investment will be known,” said Višković.
The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Energy and Mining of the Republika Srpska, Petar Đokić, who pointed out that some companies have expressed the need to use natural gas for many years.
“The study will be prepared together with a potential investor,” said Đokić for RTRS, Biznis Info reports.
