The respected Athletic yesterday announced the sensational news that Saudi Arabia will embark on the biggest football project ever, which includes bringing in the first favorite for the Ballon d’Or, Real Madrid footballer Vinicius Junior.
Athletic has announced that the delegation of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia has designated Vinicius Junior as the face of the country’s football ahead of the 2034 World Cup, which is being held in this Asian country.
However, the project could cost as much as one billion euros, which is Vinicius Junior’s buyout clause in his contract with Real Madrid. The Royal Club has no intention of selling him, and in order to bring him in, they will have to negotiate with Real to lower the clause or simply pay the amount of one billion euros.
In addition to the billion euros for bringing the Brazilian, the Saudis would allegedly give him 200 million euros a year on a five-year contract, and a salary that is 20 times more lucrative than what he has in Real.
If Vinicius is wondering, his views have been clear for a long time. The Brazilian does not want to leave Madrid and this club and added that he would have already left it because of racist insults if he wanted to.
“I never thought about leaving Spanish football because if I did, I would give the racists what they deserve. I will continue at the best club in the world and I will score a lot of goals so that I can still be watched,” Vinicius said earlier this year.
Athletic also report that Vinicius wants to stay at Real Madrid despite a lucrative offer and an invitation from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund envoys who have already held talks with his managers. They added that the Brazilian representative is happy in Madrid and that he wants to fulfill his main ambition – winning the Ballon d’Or with Real Madrid.
As for the aforementioned Ballon d’Or, Vinicius is by far the first favorite to win the most prestigious individual award in the world of football for 2024. Vinicius is considered the first favorite ahead of Rodrigo and Jude Bellingham.
