The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina welcomed the decision of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the adoption of the CBBH Annual Report for 2025, which includes an overview of macroeconomic developments for the entire year, the Bank’s operations and financial statements certified by an external auditor.

It was stated that, despite global and geopolitical challenges, 2025 was marked by stable results and strengthening of institutional resilience, which confirms the key role of the CBBH in preserving monetary and financial stability.

Bosnia and Herzegovina recorded moderate economic growth, with weakening but still elevated inflationary pressures. The CBBH continued to implement a stable monetary policy in a currency board arrangement.

Net foreign assets amounted to 1.65 billion KM, which is 293.6 million KM more than at the end of 2024. Net foreign exchange reserves at the end of 2025 amounted to 18.21 billion KM and increased by 573 million KM compared to the same period of the previous year, with full coverage of monetary liabilities by foreign exchange reserves. The coverage ratio of monetary liabilities by foreign exchange reserves was 110 percent.

The net profit of the CBBH in 2025 amounted to 307,367,399.84 KM as a result of stable and responsible management, with special emphasis on efficient management of foreign exchange reserves. Such an approach allows for the preservation of stability, while achieving safe and sustainable returns.

The reserve requirement rate was maintained at 10 percent, while the growth of currency in circulation continued, partly influenced by tourism and related service activities. At the same time, the bank continued to improve the payment system, with activities to introduce the TIPS Clone instant payment system and join the SEPA area.

The CBBH also worked on harmonization with international statistical and regulatory standards, and regularly performed the function of a fiscal agent, including timely servicing of external debt.

Special focus was placed on risk management, including climate and operational risks, and improving stress tests of the banking sector. Financial indicators indicate the stability of bank liquidity.

During 2025, activities in the area of sustainability and social responsibility were further strengthened, primarily financial education, inclusion and gender equality.

The adoption of the Report confirms the credibility and professional work of the CBBH, which remains committed to preserving monetary stability and further contributing to the economic development of the country, the institution announced.
