The current situation on the European continent is the worst since the Second World War, said the head of the Czech intelligence service, Michal Koudelka.

The public broadcaster Radio Prague International announced that the head of the security and information service of the Czech Republic told President Petr Pavel at a meeting that Russian expansionism and the possible return of extremist terrorist groups like ISIS to Europe pose major threats to European democracies.

“We cannot underestimate the risk, although we do not have any concrete information about a direct threat to the security of the Czech Republic,” he said.

Pavel reportedly claimed that the security situation is likely to become even more complex in the coming months.

Security measures have been tightened in France and other European countries after last week’s terrorist attack in Moscow, for which ISIS claimed responsibility, AA writes.
