The Diocese of New Gracanica-Midwest America of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) awarded convicted war criminal Vojislav Seselj with the Order of Saint Bishop Mardari.
This high recognition of the SPC was awarded to Seselj on behalf of Bishop Longin by Bishop Irinej of Backa.
The Bishop of Backa, Irinej Bulovic, said that it was an honor for him to present Seselj with this order.
“With the blessing of the Most Reverend Bishop Vasilij, as well as the blessing of the Reverend Bishop Longin, I have been given the honor and pleasant duty to present this wonderful order in the name of the Reverend Bishop Longin, made in the name of the wonderful pleaser of God, the saint, our almost contemporary, the holy brother Mardari,“ it was stated in the announcement of the SPC.
Seselj said that it was an honor and a pleasure for him to receive this high church recognition.
“At one time, when I was staying in America, Canada and Australia, I found Serbs divided, beaten to the point of blood and knives. I tried, in every place where I stayed, to overcome that schism, to reunite the church and I was really successful,” Seselj noted, Klix.ba writes.
