The extraordinary session of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been postponed again due to the absence of ministers from Republika Srpska.
On Thursday, this session was postponed until today, after it was boycotted by ministers from the Serbian people due to the visit of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti to Sarajevo.
The ministers did not appear today either, and the session was postponed again.
The Council of Ministers was supposed to consider, among other things, draft laws on the protection of personal data and on border control at the extraordinary session.
Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Staša Košarac stated that there are no conditions for holding today’s extraordinary session.
“There are neither political nor other formal conditions for the Council of Ministers to be held for several reasons,” said Košarac.
He stated that one of the reasons was Kurti’s visit to Sarajevo, and that someone must bear responsibility for that.
Also, he added, another reason was the subsequent inclusion of two items on the agenda of the extraordinary session of the Council of Ministers, namely the Draft Law on the Protection of Personal Data, proposed by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, and the Draft Law on Border Control, proposed by the Ministry of Security.
Košarac said that the Draft Law on the Protection of Personal Data has not been agreed upon, and that there is currently no proposer, or line minister, for the Draft Law on Border Control.
