The situation at the fire site on Mount Baba in the Gack area is much calmer this morning, and a helicopter is also ready if needed for extinguishing, said Aleksa Vučković, Srni commander of the Gata fire brigade.
The helicopter is on standby to react in case the fire starts during the day, added Vučković.
The fire in the Gacko area in the inaccessible parts of the Baba mountain was partially suppressed last night with the help of helicopters from the Helicopter Service of the Republika Srpska, which operated in that area yesterday, and last night alone seven to eight times.
The fire has not yet been extinguished, and a section was cut off last night thanks to aerial extinguishing, Srna writes.
