The Successful Season Completed: Apples From Popovo Polje Exported to Holland

jabukeThis year’s season of harvest apple in Popovo Polje proved to be extremely successful. Apple harvest lasted from July to early October. Despite the large amounts of rainfalls during fertilization and early stage of fruit growth, which made ​​it hard the protection from the diseases, 400 tons of exceptional quality and plumpness apples are produced.

“A part of this year’s apple production is exported to the Netherlands, and the rest is placed on the local market. The customers are extremely satisfied with the quality of the apples and the demand is high. We have already received orders for the next year, announced the company Popovo polje a.d. in Trebinje.

This season’s fruit are sorted and packed in new production facilities in the village Dubljani in Popovo Polje. The modern packing system includes the complete process of washing, classification by size, weight and quality. The packaging is done in accordance to the highest standards of hygiene. The packed fruits are immediately stored in optimal conditions.

This company is the only one in the region that uses the Greef machine sorting.
