The travel magazine “Lonely Planet” has published its 50 best tourist destinations for 2024, and Mostar is one of them, reports CNN.

The world-renowned travel magazine has expanded its main list “Best in Travel 2024” to five categories: best countries, regions, cities, sustainable travel destinations and best value destinations.

Mostar is in fourth place on the list of ten best cities to visit in 2024. The top three places on Lonely Planet’s list are the Kenyan capital Nairobi, Paris and Montreal, while Mostar is followed by Philadelphia, Manaus, Jakarta, Prague, Izmir and Kansas City.

When it comes to regional picks, the upcoming Trans Dinarica cycle route of the Western Balkans is Lonely Planet’s top pick.

The trail opens next year, it is 3,364 kilometers long, and passes through Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Montenegro, Albania, North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Serbia, passing through mountain ranges and the Adriatic Sea along the way.

The number 1 country to visit is Mongolia, and the others in the top ten are popular favorites such as Mexico, Croatia, and Saint Lucia, as well as less visited places like Benin and Uzbekistan.
