The village of Zlate near Jablanica also perished in the terrible floods and landslides that hit Bosnia and Herzegovina.
There are is heavy machinery that clears the road, makes water channels, and removes tons and tons of dirt and stones.
Rescuers also remove rubble and remains of houses, trees and other objects with their bare hands in order to clear the terrain and reach the houses.
All road communications towards Buturović-Polje near Konjic are still blocked today due to a large landslide on the roads.
In the town of Obri, the water washed away the bridge, so members of the Civil Protection reached the threatened areas only this morning, Don Marin Marić, parish priest in Obri, told Fena.
– From 2 o’clock on Friday, we have no electricity or telephone. The most difficult thing is that people do not have water. Landslides started from Bokševica mountain, which completely cut us off from the world. It was only this morning that members of the Civil Protection reached the threatened areas on foot and brought water bottles and a couple of generators – said pastor Don Marin Marić.
He added that he is charging his cell phone battery in the car because there is no other way, and he hopes that the road corridor will be cleared soon so that the residents, among whom there are sick people, can get much needed help.
The HNK Government said today that all services are working to search for the missing, clear the terrain and establish as many traffic corridors as possible towards Jablanica and Konjic.
Also, they officially confirmed that 13 people lost their lives in flash floods in Jablanica and Konjic, while 10 of them are missing. Of that number, one person who died was from Buturović Polje, and the others were from Jablanica.
