The White House approved another package of US military aid to Ukraine worth about 250 million dollars.
The latest package includes air defenses, artillery, small arms ammunition and anti-tank weapons, according to US officials.
However, it will also be the last available funding from the US without fresh approval from Congress, where negotiations have stalled.
Ukraine has warned that its war effort and public finances are at risk if Western aid does not continue.
With a stalled counteroffensive in the country’s east and little change in battle lines, Ukrainian officials face the danger of slowing aid from allies in Washington and Europe.
Although Ukraine’s war effort has broad support in the US Congress, a deal on further military aid has been stalled by Republicans who insist that tougher security measures on the US-Mexico border must be part of any future military aid deal.
