The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina welcomes the initiative called ‘Streets for Peace Project’, which was launched by the youth of Srebrenica by proposing to replace street names with neutral, inclusive names.
Such an approach to changing street names transcends political divisions and provides a strong example of reconciliation, cooperation and understanding, paving the way to a better future for all residents of Srebrenica.
“The mission is available to provide assistance to the competent authorities in Srebrenica, in order to ensure the involvement of citizens and transparency, in approaching the issue of changing street names,” the OSCE Mission in BiH stated in a press release.
