The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Josip Brkić, received the Ambassador of Japan to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Masamio Kinefuchi, on his inaugural visit, with whom he discussed strengthening the harmonization of relations between the two countries.

The interlocutors pointed out that there are no open issues between Japan and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, cooperation has been constantly progressing and developing to mutual satisfaction.

Exceptionally good and active cooperation in international organizations was also highlighted.

Deputy Minister Brkić said that Japan has been one of the most important donors to Bosnia and Herzegovina, pointing out that the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina highly appreciate the efforts that Japan invests in development assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina, through programs for the development of primary health care, education, demining, water supply, environmental protection and infrastructure development.

He invited Ambassador Kinefuchi to visit the cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to make sure of the welcome in the entire territory with the aim of opening additional opportunities for cooperation.

Ambassador Kinefuchi pointed out that significant development and progress have been noticeable in Bosnia and Herzegovina in recent years.

He noted that the Embassy and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will continue to work on technical support and help the development of all structures in Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to encourage further economic development of the country, which is a condition for peace and stability both in the country and in the region, stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
