There Has Been Significant Progress In Resolving The Problem With Gunpowder in the FBiH

The military industry factory Igman d.d. Konjic stated in a press release that, after a temporary production halt caused by the suspension of gunpowder deliveries from Serbia, there has been significant progress in resolving the problem.

As they recalled, according to information received from the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), Nermin Niksic, in a direct conversation with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, an agreement was reached on lifting the ban on the export of gunpowder to BiH, within 48 hours.

“This will enable the continuation of regular delivery of the key raw material for our production, which is of exceptional importance for the realization of existing contractual obligations and the preservation of business stability,” stated Igman.

Due to the earlier suspension of gunpowder deliveries, the company was forced to make a decision on using the remaining annual leave for most employees, with the aim of rationally managing costs in extraordinary circumstances.

“We thank our workers, partners, and the public for their understanding, as well as the Government of the FBiH for its quick reaction and diplomatic engagement. We express special gratitude to the Prime Minister of the FBiH, Nermin Niksic, who, through his engagement and dedication, has once again shown sincere commitment to supporting Igman. Prime Minister Niksic, as a citizen of Konjic and a longtime friend of our company, has many times shown that he understands the importance of Igman for the local community, but also for the defense industry of BiH,” the statement emphasized.

Igman d.d. Konjic, it is stated at the end, remains committed to stable business operations, honoring contracts, protecting jobs, and developing the domestic military industry. The goal of the new Igman management is to ensure production stability and prevent similar halts in the future, under conditions of increasingly pronounced geopolitical tensions, through diversification of raw material supply, including intensive negotiations with alternative gunpowder producers in Europe and beyond.
