The High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Schmidt visited Kozarac where he met with the Vice President of Republika Srpska Ćamil Duraković.

Current events in Bosnia and Herzegovina were discussed, with a focus on the coexistence of different ethnic groups and the common perspective of European integration, OHR announced on platform X.

“There is no alternative to constructive cooperation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The historical success story of the EU shows how all people can benefit from overcoming nationalistic narratives and overcoming artificial barriers. Only a functional state allows everyone to express their identity in peace and freely,” said the high representative.

The High Representative also met with representatives of NGOs Kvart, Izvor and Srcem do mira, in order to get acquainted with the daily life of returnees in the Republika Srpska. The interlocutors confirmed their full support and commitment to close cooperation and joint progress of civil society.

“Politics is not only a matter for politicians, but also for every citizen, and to that end the role of non-governmental organizations must be recognized and promoted,” said High Representative Schmidt, Fena writes.
