Third International Furniture Fair “Sarajevo 4 Walls”, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH’s) largest one, opened on Thursday, bringing 100 exhibitors to capital Sarajevo.
The fair encompasses the stage of primary wood processing to final product development, including interior and exterior design, spokesperson of “Sarajevo 4 Walls” Edin Muftic said before the opening ceremony.
The exhibition space was expanded to 10,000 square meters, which is making this fair the biggest on the territory of BiH, Muftic said, adding that novelty for this year is the introduction of series of business meetings.
Apart from the exhibition of furniture, the focus of the fair will be on economic cooperation with series of education workshops, presentations and panel discussions, all in order to improve the wood industry as a strategic branch that achieves outstanding results on domestic and foreign markets.
The fair was declared the fastest growing by quantity and quality in the region, organizers highlighted.
Organizers also highlighted the traditional award ceremony on which participants receive awards for the most innovative piece of furniture, for the best furniture design, the best presentation and the aesthetic appearance of the exhibition space, and the best product at the fair.
According to the BiH Foreign Trade Chamber, the country exported wood worth one billion convertible marks (578 million U.S. dollars) in the period between January and September 2018, a 6.9 percent increase year-on-year. Production and sales of wood assortment are also on the rise.
The fair is taking place from April 11-14, and all money collected from tickets will be given to humanitarian organizations.
