mercedes titoFar away from the eyes of the public, in the dark garage of the Services for General and Joint Affairs, hidden in the garage of Macedonian Television (MTV), is Tito’s Mercedes 600 grosser.

However, Marshal and President of the former SFRY, Josip Broz Tito, never drove it.

The team of the portal mkd.mk from Skopje had a chance to take a look into the garage. They were expecting to see an old and neglected vehicle that was out of use for a long time. However, they found a valuable collector’s piece in extremely good condition.

“When the garage doors opened and the silhouette appeared, it seemed a bit smaller than I expected from Tito’s Mercedes.”

“Although it was not the “real” Marshal’s Mercedes, two of which are kept in Belgrade and one in Ljubljana, while another one was sold at an auction in London for 3 million EUR, I was standing in front of a huge, old, state-owned Mercedes, that was beautifully preserved in its original form,” described journalist of mkd.mk portal.

Angele Stojanovski is taking care and driving this incredibly valuable car that was produced back in 1974, and which only passed 60,000 kilometers.

He said for the mkd.mk portal that Josip Broz Tito never drove this vehicle, but he, especially lately, is using it for important guests from abroad and especially important events.
