The swimming club Bosna Sarajevo is organizing the 23rd international swimming meet “Sarajevo with love 2026″ at the Otok Olympic pool this coming weekend.
The competition is held in honor of April 6, Sarajevo City Day and under the auspices of the Sarajevo City Administration. This competition is included in the calendar of the EA (European Swimming Federation – European Aquatics) and is one of the most important sporting events in the region.
This year’s anniversary edition will feature swimmers from Turkey, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which guarantees top competition and exciting races.
”In addition to the clubs from Bosnia and Herzegovina, we will host many teams from the region. We expect about 400 competitors who will fight for their best times. We invite citizens to come to the island and support our swimmers, among whom there are certainly future BiH national team members,” said Minel Bakal, coach of PK Bosna.
The club currently has around a hundred members of all ages, and the focus is on creating top athletes.
”We accept children from the age of five onwards. We are not a classic swimming school. Our primary goal is for the children, after mastering the basics, to stay in the system and grow into quality competitors,” concluded Bakal.
