Today is International Coffee Day celebrated all over the world.

Coffee is one of the most popular beverages, with which most people start their day.

But coffee is much more than a beverage. It is also the time that many leave only for themselves, to start the new day in silence, while others prefer to drink it in company. However, at the end of the day, it is also an occasion to spend time with loved ones. It is no surprise that coffee is one of the most popular beverages in the world, no matter in which version it is drunk, hot or cold, with or without additives.

There are several ways of preparing coffee, and among the most famous, at least in the local area, are Bosnian and espresso coffee.

Coffee is ranked as the second most traded commodity globally, so it is no surprise that over 2 billion cups are consumed worldwide every day. Europeans are one of the biggest coffee lovers, with an average consumption of around 5.5 kilograms per person per year.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, coffee is equally rooted in everyday life and traditionally has an important place in the lives of Bosnians and Herzegovinans. Coffee arrived in our country in the 16th century and for a long time it was drunk only in rich houses.

Today in Bosnia and Herzegovina, about 4.3 kg of coffee is consumed per capita per year. For many, coffee serves as a much-needed boost of energy during the day, but at the same time, it is a much-appreciated moment to relax during a busy day.
