In the past seven days, we had the opportunity to enjoy excellent concerts in the context of the Sarajevo Chamber Music Festival or the Festival of chamber music, which for the third year occurred in Sarajevo.
Music Academy and the Manhattan String Quartet in accordance with the program of the concert in recent days have finished even the program of the Sarajevo Chamber Music Institute. This educational festival program through a series of master classes and workshops in Sarajevo brought together 54 students of music.
All of them last night held a final concert in the hall of the Music Academy in Sarajevo, which was the crown of the ten days of lecturing. The audience was thrilled with their performances at the Music Academy in Sarajevo.
Educational program were led and developed by prominent world and Bosnia and Herzegovina music artists and lecturers: members of the Manhattan String Quartet – violinist Curtis Macomber, violinist Calvin Wiersma, violist John Dexter and cellist Chris Finckel and violinist Deborah Wong, Belma Alic cellist and the pianist Dino Mulić. Besides regular lecturer with the participants worked even the festival guests such as Swiss violist Lech Antonio Uzynski, Turkish violinist Cihat Askin, American pianist Christopher Taylor and American clarinetist Stanley Drucker .
During the workshops and lectures, the participants were divided into various chamber ensembles and together with their mentors they actively practiced chamber music works of great artists of 18th and 19th century, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johannes Brahms.
Tonight at the SCMF – will be held the solo concert of the pianist Dino Mulić and on Wednesday, the festival will close with the concert of Manhattan String Quartet in a performance of Mozart and Brahms.
Concerts are held in the house of the Armed Forces, starting at 19:30, and the entrance is for free.
