Organized by the Council for Regional Cooperation (RCC), tomorrow in Sarajevo will start the second edition of the Academy on Media Law in South East Europe
The aim of this three-day event is to enhance cooperation in the development and implementation of progressive media legislation in Southeast Europe according to international and European media standards.
The emphasis will be on issues of media pluralism, public RTV service and media freedom on the Internet.
The meeting will officially open from Gazmend Turdiu, the Deputy of secretary-General of the Council for Regional Coperation, Dunja Mijatović, OSCE Representative on Media Freedom, Judith Illerhues, the director of Friedrich Ebert Foundation in B&H, Richard Burnley, the Head of Department for Regulatory Law Affairs to the European Union Radio and Television and Ibrahim Eren, Deputy Director of Turkey Radio and Television on behalf of the European Association of Public Broadcasting Services of Southeast Europe.
Academy on Media Law brings together media professionals from the region, lawyers who are involved in media law, legislators / parliamentarians, government officials, members of regulatory and self-regulatory media bodies, civil society and academies from all over Eastern Europe, and all those who are involved with the issue of media freedom, was announced from Council for Regional Cooperation.
