Tomorrow the Exhibition of the Fine Art Colony “Art Beyond Barriers and Boarders”

mineNGO “Inicijative preživljenih od mina” (Initiative of Mine Survivors), with the support of U.S. Embassy in B&H will organize on Friday at the Museum of Literature and Arts Theater in Sarajevo, the retrospective exhibition of art works created at the regional art colony “Arts beyond barriers and borders” from 2005 to 2012.

The exhibition will present more than 60 artistic pieces, by 44 artists with and without disabilities in the region of Southeast Europe who participated in the colony during its eight year of operation.

Art Colony “Art beyond barriers and borders” aims to contribute on the destruction of prejudices and to raise public awareness about the situation, through creation of potentials of the rights of people with disabilities in B&H, and to promote equal opportunities and full inclusion of people with disabilities in the community and society.

The colony, until now, has hosted more than 100 artists with and without disabilities, including academic artists, amateurs, teachers and students of Fine Arts from the five countries of the region, and a great number of guests, civil society organizations, representatives of government and the media to follow informative, cultural and educational activities.

It is foreseen that at the opening of the exhibition the representative of the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo Nicholas Hill will held a speech.
