The Sarajevo Tourist Board for the first time presented the tourist offer of our capital at one of the most popular fairs in the Asia-Pacific region and the largest exhibition and sales event in Taiwan – Taipei International Travel Fair (Taipei ITF 2017), which was held from October 27th to October 30th, 2017 in the Taipei World Trade Center.

The tourist offer of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina was first presented at the Taipei ITF 2017 fair, and the significance of presenting Sarajevo at this fair is extremely high, primarily due to the recorded increase in the number of tourists from Asia.

During the four days of the fair, Sarajevo was presented as a tourist destination through various segments of the tourist offer and the Sarajevo booth attracted great interest. “We talked with a large number of tour operators who, because of the great interest of their citizens to visit the region and Bosnia and Herzegovina, would like to include Sarajevo in their offer,” said Faruk Caluk, the director of the Sarajevo Tourist Board. Caluk pointed out that he was particularly surprised by the great interest and knowledge of the fair visitors about our country, and thanked the Embassy of Taiwan in Budapest for cooperation.

Taipei ITF has been offering great business opportunities for more than 30 years. Last year, the fair attracted over 360,000 visitors, while this year this number rose to almost half a million. 68 countries, with over 1,000 exhibitors from all over the world, presented their offiers at the fair. With many lectures, presentations and performances of folklore groups, ITF fulfilled its expectations and decided to move to even greater space next year, not far from this year’s Taipei World Trade Center.

Representatives of the Sarajevo Tourist Board will be traveling to London next week, where Sarajevo will be presented at one of the world’s largest tourism fairs “World Travel Market – WTM 2017”.
