The figures on the visits to Bosnia and Herzegovina so far exceed those of the previous year. Natural beauty is, most often, what attracts many tourists, and the Una-Sana canton can boast of such beauty, which is a popular destination among domestic and foreign tourists. In this canton, they recorded 20 percent more overnight stays compared to last year.

Natural environment, bungalows, staying in transparent houses and rafting on the river Una. The Japod Islands, the most frequently chosen destination of tourists, provide visitors with an unforgettable experience, so it is not surprising that they often return to this place.

“We were five years ago and it was excellent, so we came again. We are here in bungalows and it is the closest thing to camping without being camping. By the way, it’s really beautiful, the nature is excellent”, says tourist from London Darko Jazvić.

“We are housed here for four days in transparent domes and we find it fascinating. It fulfilled our wishes and more than we even thought and expected”, points out Ana Perko, a tourist from Karlovac.

In addition to foreigners, domestic tourists who live close to Bihać also enjoy the interesting contents of the Japod Islands.

“It’s close, but I’m here for the first time, with my family. It’s really beautiful, nature, water, something that really looks beautiful at first impression”, says tourist from Bužim Ćazim Burzić.

Tourists from all over the world come to this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the trend of increasing visits and overnight stays continues.

“We have an increasing number of tourists from the western part of Europe, which pleases us because they are mostly tourists who are interested in active tourism, and we want to position ourselves as an active tourism destination and we want to keep our guests. We still notice that there is a 20% increase in the number of overnight stays compared to last year”, points out Mehmed Mahmutović from the Bihać Tourist Board.

In Una Sana Canton, preparations for the tourist season last throughout the year, so expectations are high. The data at the end of the season are a clear indication that the effort pays off and that only good memories are brought back from this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
