Weddings Sarajevo igorisanovic.comNumber of weddings in five municipalities in the Sarajevo Canton in 2015 increased in comparison with the previous year. As an increasingly popular tourist destination, Sarajevo is a place where tourists want to get married more and more.

In the previous year, a total of 2.472 marriages were concluded in Sarajevo municipalities Stari Grad, Centar, Novo Sarajevo, Centar, Novi Grad and Ilidža. On average, an increase in comparison with 2014 is recorded.

“At the territory of FB&H, the largest number of weddings is concluded in the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo. Given that we dispose with a nicely decorated wedding venue, as well as with a parking lot with sufficient number of parking spaces which the newlyweds often highlight as important, a large number of pairs from other municipalities also opt for concluding marriage precisely in our municipality. Thus, 777 marriages were concluded in our municipality in 2015,” the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo stated.

Sarajevo Municipality of Centar highlights the growing interest of foreign citizens who want to get married in the capital of B&H.

“We have started quoting verses for a happy and successful beginning of marriage during the wedding ceremony, along with reading of regulations of the Family Law. Besides that, lately we have been receiving inquiries from more and more foreign citizens who visit Sarajevo as tourists and want to get married here,” said Vesna Topalović, registrar at the Municipality of Centar who has been doing this job with love for years now.
