The plush toys that the fans threw onto the field of the Bilino Polje stadium during Edin Džeko’s farewell from the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina reached the children of the Tuzla Children’s Home. The humanitarian action, which marked the emotional send-off of the legendary captain, got its most beautiful continuation through children’s smiles and joy.
Children’s Home Tuzla published photos of the distribution of toys, along with an emotional message of gratitude to everyone who contributed to the realization of this humane idea.
“Toys arrived in the hands of children. Some memories don’t just remain in the memory – they become someone’s smile,” said the Home.
Let us remind you that during the match between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sweden, played on October 2nd in Zenica, fans threw stuffed toys onto the field and took part in a humanitarian action organized on the occasion of Džeko’s farewell to the national team jersey.
Children’s Home Tuzla pointed out that the gifts brought many moments of happiness to the little ones, emphasizing how much these gestures mean to the children.
“Edin’s farewell was not just a farewell to a great athlete. It was also the beginning of a beautiful story – a story that reached the children and turned into joy,” they stated in the announcement.
Dzko’s farewell also left a special humanitarian mark, in addition to strong emotions on Bila’s field. The toys that saw off one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s greatest sportsmen from the stands are now in the hands of children, as a memory of an event that connected sports, solidarity and humanity.
