Traffic blocked at the Entity Line near East Sarajevo

On the demarcation line between Sarajevo and East Sarajevo, police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska blocked traffic.

The protest gathering in support of Milorad Dodik, against whom the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina filed an indictment, began at 6 p.m. in four cities located on the administrative line.
The organizer is the “Committee for the Protection of the First in FBiH”, and the protests were organized in East Sarajevo, Doboj, Nevesinje and Lopara, where police officers of the MUP of the RS are present.

A slightly larger number of police officers are present in East Sarajevo, while MUP police officers from the Sarajevo Canton also secure the Sarajevo area.

The organizers had previously announced that there would be a suspension of traffic, which the RS MUP police officers did in East Sarajevo and Doboj, and the police are redirecting traffic to other sections.

The federal authorities replied that it should not come under any conditions because it would mean a violation of the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Dayton Peace Agreement.

Earlier, High Representative Christian Schmidt also spoke out, who believes that it is irresponsible to organize political events that incite divisions on the inter-entity demarcation line. He reminded that the inter-entity demarcation line is not the border between the Republika Srpska and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but only an administrative line, Klix.ba reports.
