US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order banning entry into the United States for citizens from several countries due to national security risks, CBS News reporter Jennifer Jacobs reported, citing unnamed sources.

“The United States is banning travel from certain countries, citing national security risks. President Trump has signed an executive order banning travel from several countries,” Jacobs wrote on the X network.

The Jewish Insider news portal reported, citing sources, that the initiative to ban entry into the United States is the result of an attack on a group of pro-Israel protesters in Colorado and the killing of two employees at the Israeli Embassy in Washington.

The report added that a meeting of presidential administration staff with representatives of the Jewish community was held in Washington yesterday, at which White House Secretary and Legal Advisor Will Scharf informed the group of the order.

The countries affected by the latest travel ban are Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.
The entry of people from seven other countries: Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela, will be partially restricted.
“We will not allow people to enter our country who wish to do us harm,” Trump said in a video posted on X. He said the list could be revised and new countries could be added.
