US President Donald Trump has said he has no knowledge of the girls Jeffrey Epstein mentions in emails recently released to Congress.
“I don’t know anything about that. They would have released that a long time ago,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One, according to an audio recording released by the White House.
In one of the emails, Epstein claimed that Trump “knew about the girls,” apparently referring to Trump’s earlier statement that Epstein was kicked out of Mar-a-Lago because he tried to lure young women from his club in Palm Beach.
Trump has previously said that Epstein “stole” women from Mar-a-Lago and was removed because he was “creepy.”
Referring to prominent Democrats, whom he asked the Justice Department to investigate today for their ties to Epstein, the president suggested that investigators should look into why Jeffrey Epstein spent so much time with figures such as Bill Clinton, former Harvard president Larry Summers and others in high positions.
“Jeffrey Epstein and I had a very bad relationship for many years. But he also saw the strength, because I was the president, so he dictated a few notes to himself. You will find out what he knew about Bill Clinton, about the president of Harvard, about all these people he knew, including JP Morgan Chase,” he added.
