US President Donald Trump is determined to reach a deal with Iran to end hostilities in the Middle East, three senior Israeli officials told Reuters.
The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said it was unlikely that Iran would agree to US demands in any new round of talks, which were suspended on February 28 by the launch of US-Israeli intervention against Iran.
The US demands are likely to include restrictions on Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programmes.
Trump had earlier posted on social media that the US and Iran had held “very good and productive” talks on “a complete resolution of hostilities in the Middle East”.
