Aleksandar Vučić posted on Instagram a congratulatory message from Emmanuel Macron, in which the importance of strengthening relations between the Serbian and French peoples is highlighted, reports RTS.

“I am happy that our mutual visits have made it possible, in recent years, to deepen and expand our bilateral cooperation in new areas such as research and exploitation of metals and strategic minerals, energy, agriculture and innovation and artificial intelligence,” the congratulatory message states, among other things.

Macron also expressed his wish that this year will be marked by important progress in the implementation of the intergovernmental agreement on the implementation of priority projects and progress in the field of cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense.

“France is convinced of Serbia’s European future and will continue to support the dynamics of rapprochement between Serbia and the EU and all essential reforms that will contribute to this. It will continue to support the dialogue facilitated by the EU for the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina on the basis of the commitments accepted by the two sides within the framework of the Brussels-Ohrid Agreement,” Macron said.

United States President Donald Trump sent a congratulatory message to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić on the upcoming Statehood Day.

“I look forward to further strengthening our partnership, building on the increasingly strong ties between our countries, to jointly contribute to greater security and prosperity for the citizens of Serbia and the United States. I am pleased with our increasingly intensive cooperation and new opportunities for mutual investment in important sectors such as technology and energy. We greatly appreciate Serbia’s significant contribution to international security, whether it is supporting the people of Ukraine in their defense against Russian aggression or Serbia’s contribution to numerous peacekeeping missions around the world. In the year ahead, I look forward to our joint efforts to promote stability and economic development in the Western Balkans,” Trump’s congratulatory message reads.

It also states that the United States fully supports Serbia’s continued integration into the Euro-Atlantic space, as well as “its efforts to promote peaceful and prosperous relations with its neighbors and partners in the region.”
