U.S. President Donald Trump commented on the involvement of his political operatives James Blair and Chris LaCivita, who, according to a New York Times report published ahead of the general elections held on Sunday, were in Republika Srpska (RS) and provided advisory services to the authorities of this entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina and to Milorad Dodik’s Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD).
“Blair and LaCivita are outside consultants. They don’t work for me except as outside consultants. They probably have numerous clients, but you would have to ask them about that,” Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social, according to media reports.
He added that they can work for other people, like all consultants in Washington.
“I have no idea who else they work for, but I will, when I think about it, ask them and if there is a conflict (of interest), I will fire them immediately!” Trump stated.
According to the New York Times, these two political operatives stayed in Republika Srpska shortly before the elections, while simultaneously leading a large part of Trump’s political campaign in the U.S. ahead of the November congressional elections.
The newspaper reports that Blair and LaCivita received several hundred thousand dollars through a Washington-based law firm hired by the Government of Republika Srpska for consulting on issues related to the electoral process.
Blair previously served as a political director of Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, while LaCivita was one of the key managers of the campaign.
Both are now involved in the activities of the MAGA movement.
