US President Donald Trump has signed a bill that commits his administration to releasing all official documents related to the case of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
“I just signed the Epstein File Release Act!” the US president wrote on his social media account Truth Social.
He again accused his Democratic opponents of covering up the truth.
The bill, which Congress passed on Tuesday, gives the Justice Department a month to release the documents it has.
Trump had known Epstein for years but said the two had a falling out in the early 2000s, two years before the controversial American financier was first arrested. Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein.
Speaking to reporters on Monday evening, Trump said that “Republicans have nothing to do with Epstein.”
Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in a prison cell in 2019, before his trial.
