Turkey has joined South Africa’s Case against Israel for Genocide

Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan announced that his country has decided to join South Africa’s lawsuit against Israel for genocide before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague.

Fidan criticized the international community, stating that Turkey and other countries seeking justice for Palestinians will not accept the expulsion of these people from their homeland.

“What is the international community waiting for while in the 21st century, people are dying, mass graves are appearing where the Israeli army has withdrawn, and civilians, including women, children, patients, and the elderly, are targeted? It is obvious that coercive measures must now be put on the agenda. Neither Palestinians, nor Turkey, nor other countries seeking justice and law, nor the international community will accept Israel’s efforts to subjugate the Palestinian people and expel them from their land.”

The Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs said that everyone is now faced with a choice, either to stand on the side of law and humanity, or everyone will pay the price for the problems caused by oppression.

“I want to emphasize this issue once again as a warning to countries that guarantee Israel’s crimes but jeopardize the entire international system and security.”

At the end of last year, South Africa accused Israel of genocide before the ICJ. The process was initiated at a time when Israeli allies were facing increasing calls to stop supplying weapons to Israel.
