Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth Damir Gazdić reflected on the activities realized in 2022.
“The adopted information is a cross-section of the situation and activities that were carried out with the aim of supporting young people in the territory of our canton, as well as the means, projects and activities implemented by the state, entity, cantonal and city/municipal levels of government. It is important to point out that the Tuzla Canton management of action programs for young people regarding housing, subsidies for kindergarten costs and self-employment expanded the definition of the age of young people from 30 to 35 years of age, and in this connection all the data presented in this information have a wider scope than is provided for by the federal law Analyzing the demographic indicators, unfortunately, it was found that there is a current trend of a decrease in the number of young people in the Tuzla Canton,” said Minister Gazdić.
The number of young people aged 15 to 35 in 2020 was 113,617. That number in 2021 was 111,403, and in 2022, 109,172 young people would live in the area of Tuzla Canton. Based on the analysis of the natural and mechanical movement of the population, it can be concluded that the demographic picture of the Tuzla Canton is characterized by natural depopulation, a decrease in the birth rate, and a negative balance of migration, which is a continuation of the negative trend of demographic movements of the population that have been happening for at least the last 10 years.
