Tuzla Won World Touristic Organization Award Again

nagrada tuzla-2Her Excellency Jasna Krivošić-Prpić, ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Spain, in the name of Tuzla municipality, received the second award “Odisej” given by the World Touristic Organization (WTO).

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tuzla municipality won the awards for its innovations important for public interest and for management of the project named “Valorization of the natural heritage – Panon lakes.” An award was given by the general secretary of the WTO, Taleb Rifai.

Ambassador Krivošić-Prpić declared that she received the award on behalf of the Tuzla municipality with great excitement.

“It is clear that tourism can significantly contribute to the economic growth of a country like B&H.” In addition, Krivošić-Prpić says that B&H has a natural as well as human potential for tourism expansion.

General secretary of the World Touristic Organization Taleb Rifai declared that he believes that this award will be a stimulus for the further strengthening of cooperation between WTO and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Moreover, he added that “the project done by the Tuzla municipality is impressive, because the former industrial city is successfully developing into an attractive tourist destination.”
