Two earthquakes struck Bosnia and Herzegovina overnight, and the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute has now released data regarding their magnitude – information that was previously unavailable.

The first earthquake, with an epicenter near Sarajevo, was recorded at 1:17 AM and had a magnitude of 2.1 on the Richter scale.

The second earthquake was recorded at 4:34 AM with an epicenter near Mostar; it measured 2.7 on the Richter scale.

Earthquakes of this magnitude are considered minor. Nevertheless, many citizens felt them, and some were even awakened by the tremors.

According to reports submitted to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) website, residents from the Ilidža, Vogošća, Lukavica, and Kobilja Glava areas of Sarajevo reported feeling the tremors, while near Mostar, reports came primarily from Blagaj and Rodoč.

Citizens described the earthquakes as brief jolts, accompanied by a sound resembling an explosion or thunder.
