Two Years old Girl died after Eye Lid Surgery in Sarajevo

A girl from Kakanj was transferred to the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo in critical condition after an operation in a private polyclinic. The sad news was confirmed via Facebook by her father Muris Gajun.

The girl was in a coma after eyelid surgery, which was performed by Dr. Nina Jovanović in the private practice of Halimić, ie Rožajac-Bejtović, and the anesthesiologist was Dr. Suad Rožajac.

The family decided on this procedure in the private sector due to, as they say, long waiting lists. All the child’s findings before the operation, they added, were in order.

The parents of a girl who had eyelid surgery and got implanted plastic, which her body did not accept, say that the plastic should have been removed in a private institution in Sarajevo, but that her brain failed to withstand anesthesia and that the operation was performed in a rented space.

“When we brought our girl, she was on her feet. After an hour and a half, we saw people coming in and out and something was happening. I told my husband that something was wrong, he said someone was probably pulling a tooth because it was a dental office. We didn’t even know it was a dental office. The ambulance came, I got out of the car, everyone was running, they were lost, they said that the child was fine and that everything would be alright. Dr. Nina Jovanovic explained that the surgery was successfully completed and that at the time of waking up, the girl‘s heart stopped beating and she lost oxygen. She entered that room with her feet.. ” told the visibly shaken mother of the girl from Kakanj.

They pointed out that after that the girl was transported to KCUS, where she is still in a severe coma, and that no one knows how it happened.

“She had a blood sugar of 34, and she used to be completely healthy,” the mother added.

They were especially worried that the police received an order to withdraw from the field and that this event could wait. Until today, as they said, they have not received any explanation.

The mother emphasized that Suad Rozajac was the anesthesiologist, who was asked what he had given the girl, and he replied that he did not know.

“We asked him what was happening and what he gave her. He noted that he did not know what was happening, that her heart stopped, that they brought her back to life twice…” said the mother in an interview for Kakanjinfo.com.
