U17 World Championship: BiH wins the 9th Place!

basketballThe U17 national basketball team of BiH yesterday defeated the team of China and thus won the 9th place in the World Championship that is taking place in Spain.

After being eliminated by Australia in the round of 16, the BiH national team previously celebrated against Taiwan and the Dominican Republic in the fight for the placement between 9th and 16th place.

The last opponent of the BiH national team at the World Championship was China. Although the BiH players were favorites in the match, the Chinese players have proven to be a hard nut to crack.

At the very beginning of the match, the Chinese team led with 4:0, but in the continuation the BiH players took the ends in their hands and closed the first quarter with the result of 28:18 in their favor.

By the end of the first half time, that lead increased, so the scoreboard showed 49:34.

The BiH team suffered a catastrophic fall in the game, when they scored 12 points in ten minutes and received as much as 28 points in the same time.

However, the BiH players managed to pull themselves together and in the fourth quarter they celebrated with 27:22 and ended the match with the result of 88:84.

The most efficient player of the match was, expectedly, Džanan Musa with 33 points, nine rebounds and four assists, while Sani Čampara scored 19 points, with five assists. Also worth mentioning is the performance of Vedran Mirković, who scored 11 points, with five rebounds.

The most efficient player in the national team of China was Chen with 30 points, while Zhu scored 15.

At the beginning of the match, the Chinese took the lead with 4:0, and the BiH team responded with a series of 8:0. In the continuation, the BiH manage to make seven points of advantage for 14:7, increasing it to the final 10 points more by the end of the first period (28:18).

The BiH team ended the second quarter in their favor, with a result of 21:16, and went to half time with 15 points more (49:64). The most efficient players in the first 20 minutes of the game were Sani Čampara with 14 points and three assists and Džanan Musa with 12 points, six rebounds and four assists. Also worth mentioning is the performance of Vedran Mirković, who scored eight points and recorded three rebounds. The most efficient player in the China team was Chen with 10 points, while Zhao scored eight.

In the third quarter, the BiH team experienced a catastrophic fall in the game, losing this quarter with 16 points less than China (12:28).

In the last period, the BiH team somehow managed to recover from the terrible period of the game and celebrate with 27:22, which was enough for the final 88:84.
