The European Football Union /UEFA/ today initiated disciplinary proceedings against the Football Association of Serbia due to the behavior of the fans at the match against England in the first round of the European Championship in Germany.
Last night, in the German city of Gelsenkirchen, Serbia was defeated by England with a score of 1:0 in the match of the first round of Group C.
The UEFA Disciplinary Committee initiated proceedings for, as they stated, the throwing of objects onto the field and the transmission of provocative messages inappropriate for a sporting event.
The UEFA statement stated that the controlling ethical and disciplinary body will make a final decision in due course.
“The UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector will conduct an investigation into the alleged discriminatory behavior,” the union announced.
