The president of the European Football Association (UEFA), Aleksander Čeferin, announced the establishment of a new competition on the Old Continent.
In a statement to the German magazine “Kicker”, he did not want to reveal details.
“We are still thinking about other ideas, but it is too early to reveal anything. It is absolutely clear that we will not increase the number of matches. But something will come up that will make everything even more interesting,” Čeferin said and added:
“It is difficult to talk about matches that have not yet started. But the teams definitely want them, especially the biggest ones”.
In Europe, clubs from the highest leagues already compete in the Champions League, the Europa League and the Conference League, while national teams compete in the Nations League, STA reports.
