During their stay in Gorazde, several members of GCF Bosnia: For the children of Gorazde Foundation, which was established at the initiative of former United Kingdom (UK) soldiers from the UNPROFOR contingent, cleaned up the access road to the popular picnic site Rorovi.
From this picnic site, there is a unique view of Gorazde, and both locals and tourists enjoy spending time at this location.
In addition to the fact that the site has often been targeted by vandals in the past, there is also a road nearby leading to an illegal garbage dump in Siseta, which is piled with various types of waste on both sides. Large amounts of garbage are also visible along the road that passes by the picnic site, heading towards the Jabuka area.
The UK, who pass through this route to the memorial they built at the Vranovina site in honor of six UK soldiers who died in 1994 during the UNPROFOR mission in the “protected zone” of Gorazde, were disturbed by the sight of the garbage. They proceeded to clean everything up and sent photos and videos of the cleanup to Gorazde officials, with whom they otherwise have excellent cooperation.
The foundation, headquartered in the UK, has been dedicated to Gorazde for many years, striving to support the implementation of significant projects. They also seek to attract broader international attention to the beauty and attractions of Gorazde and the surrounding landscapes, Klix.ba writes.
