Ukraine imposes Nationwide Energy Restrictions after Russian Attack

Ukraine will impose “restrictive measures” on electricity consumption across its entire territory starting Monday, following a large-scale Russian attack that severely damaged Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, the energy ministry said on Sunday.

“Tomorrow, November 18, all regions will have to implement consumption restrictions” due to “damage to electrical installations during a massive missile and drone attack,” the ministry said on social media.

Russia launched its largest airstrike on Ukraine in nearly three months on Sunday, launching 120 missiles and 90 drones, killing seven people and causing extensive damage to the power grid, officials said.

The Russian airstrikes have caused numerous power outages, leaving people without electricity and heating.

Officials confirmed damage to Ukraine’s “key infrastructure” caused by a “massive combined air strike” by the Russian military, and power outages across the country, from Vokine, Rivne, Lviv to Dnipropetrovsk in the west and Zaporizhia in the southeast.
