Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif officially announced that a historic peace agreement was reached between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to him, both sides declared an immediate and permanent cessation of all military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon. The official signing ceremony of this fateful document will take place on Friday, June 19, in Switzerland.
In an official statement, the Pakistani Prime Minister expressed his deep gratitude to the leaders of Washington and Tehran for their commitment to finding a diplomatic solution to this devastating conflict, but also revealed who the key regional players were who made this agreement possible.
“After intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that a peace agreement has been reached between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
We would like to thank the US and Iran for their commitment to a diplomatic solution to the conflict. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to our brothers in these mediation efforts, the great leadership of the State of Qatar, for their support in reaching this agreement. I especially thank the visionary leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkey for their enormous contribution in this regard,” said Sharif in the official announcement.
Although the agreement has been formally reached, and the guns on the fronts have fallen silent, diplomats have a week of intensive work ahead of them to prepare everything for the official ceremony.
As it was announced from Islamabad, the mediators will organize a series of meetings this week. These pre-implementation talks will lay the groundwork for technical negotiations that will define all the details of the agreement, followed by the signature ceremony on Friday in Switzerland.
Immediately after the announcement from Pakistan, US President Donald Trump announced on his social network Truth Social, confirming that the deal was officially concluded and sending a spectacular message to the global economy and world markets.
“The agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to everyone! I hereby fully approve the free passage and opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and at the same time I order the immediate lifting of the naval blockade of the United States of America. Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow!”, said Trump.
This announcement comes as a great relief to the entire world, and especially to Lebanon and the Middle East region that has been on the brink of total destruction for weeks.
After dramatic tensions and Israeli attempts to undermine the talks in the final hours, the diplomatic axis led by Qatar, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, with the mediation of Pakistan, apparently managed to secure peace.
