US Plane shot down an anti-ship Missile fired by the Houthis

The US military said it shot down a missile fired at one of its warships from Houthi-held territory in Yemen.

An anti-ship cruise missile – fired at the USS Laboon in the Red Sea – was shot down off the coast of Hudaydah by a US warplane.

There were no injuries or property damage in the incident on Sunday afternoon.

It comes after a US-British attack in Yemen aimed at degrading the military capabilities of the Houthis, who attack Red Sea cargo ships.

The US and UK hit nearly 30 sites in Yemen on Friday, including weapons depots, logistics hubs and air defense systems.

On Saturday, the US continued with another strike on the Houthi radar site.

President Joe Biden said he “will not hesitate to direct further measures to protect our people and the free flow of international trade as necessary.”
