The President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, sent a congratulatory message to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the occasion of Statehood Day, saying that the USA remains firmly committed to the sovereignty, territorial integrity and multi-ethnic character of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“We remain committed to strengthening the ties between our people, whose diversity and dynamism have always strengthened our partnership,” said Biden at the beginning of his letter sent to the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Attempts to undermine the Dayton Agreement, attacks on state institutions and calls for secession undermine the stability and future of BiH. It also poses a threat to citizens and normal living conditions. As you celebrate your country’s holiday, I call on you to put your duties ahead of division and end politics of nationalism,” Biden states in the letter, reports Fena news agency.

He said that the government’s focus on common visions will ensure a peaceful, prosperous and democratic future, “which the citizens deserve”.

“In the year ahead, I look forward to strengthening the partnership between our two nations and the friendship between our citizens, so that Bosnia and Herzegovina will progress towards a better future. I wish you a pleasant and peaceful celebration of the national holiday,” said Biden.
